Stainless Steel Lock Nuts

Stainless Steel Lock Nuts

For situations requiring less weight or less torque, threaded Stainless Steel Lock Nuts offer a lightweight fastening alternative. Hex Lock Nuts, which may take the place of conventional hex nuts in various setups, keep panels together when used with a regular screw.

Hex nuts, which have six sides, are used to tighten bolts and screws. Hex headed bolts are frequently encountered with hex nuts. Its application is not, however, restricted to hex headed bolts. The hexagonal body’s easy-to-wrench design provides ample torque for the bolting connection.

(A) Nylon Insert Lock Nuts

A nut known as a “Nylon Insert Lock Nut” or “Nyloc Nut” locks into place by applying pressure to the internal nylon material at the top of the thread against the fastener, preventing it from vibrating and coming undone.

Metric: Dia M2 – M64
Imperial: Dia #2-56 – 2-1/2″
Threads: Metric Coarse/Fine & Imperial BSW, UNC, UNF, SAE
Strength: Class 6, 8, 10, Grade 2, 5, 8 & A4-70/80
Material/Finish: Zinc Plated, Hot Dip Galvanised, Black Phosphate & Stainless Steel
Compliance: DIN 982/985, ASME B18.16.6, IFI 100/107
Stainless Steel Hex Lock Nuts

(B)Thin Type Nylon Insert Lock Nuts

A nut that is roughly the size of a Nylon Insert Thin Lock Nut or Nyloc Thin Nut. Half as tall as a typical nylon insert lock nut, which applies pressure to the fastener’s internal nylon material at the top of the thread to hold it in place and prevent it from vibrating loose. Applications include securing against a hex nut to keep it in place or for mild duty or low clearance purposes.

Metric: Dia M20 – M48
Imperial: Dia #2-56″ – 2″
Threads: Metric Coarse & Imperial BSW, UNC, UNF, SAE
Strength: Class 4, 8, 10, Grade 2, 5, 8 & A2-70
Material/Finish: Zinc Plated & Stainless Steel
Compliance: DIN 985 Thin Series, ISO 10511, ASME B18.16.6

(C) Flanged Nylon Insert Lock Nuts

The Nyloc Flange Nut, also known as the Nylon Insert Flange Lock Nut, is a nut with a flange to spread the weight across the nut head. It locks into place by applying pressure to the internal nylon material at the top of the thread against the fastener, preventing it from vibrating and coming free.

Metric: Dia M6 – M24
Imperial: Dia 1/4″ – 1/2″
Threads: Metric Coarse/Fine & Imperial UNC, UNF
Strength: Class 5, 8, 10 & Grade 5
Material/Finish: Zinc Plated & Zinc Yellow
Compliance: DIN 6926

(D) Heavy Nylon Insert Lock Nuts (NU)

A nut known as a “Nylon Insert Lock Nut” or “Nyloc Nut” locks into place by applying pressure to the internal nylon material at the top of the thread against the fastener, preventing it from vibrating and coming undone. The height and diameter of the hex heavy nylon insert lock nut are greater than those of the normal nylon insert lock nut.

Imperial: Dia 1/4″ – 2″
Thread: Imperial UNC
Strength: Grade 2
Material/Finish: Zinc Plated
Compliance: ASME B18.16.6 NU Style

(E) Heavy Thin Nylon Insert Lock Nuts (NTU)

A nut known as a “Nylon Insert Lock Nut” or “Nyloc Nut” locks into place by applying pressure to the internal nylon material at the top of the thread against the fastener, preventing it from vibrating and coming undone. In comparison to a regular nylon insert lock nut, the hex heavy version has a wider diameter.

Imperial: Dia 5/16″ – 2-1/4″
Threads: Imperial UNC, UNF
Strength: Grade 2
Material/Finish: Zinc Plated
Compliance: ASME B18.16.6 NTU Style

(F) Metal Insert Lock Nuts

The Metal Insert Lock Nut prevents the fastener from vibrating and coming free by applying pressure to the metal insert at the top of the thread. In contrast to Nylon Insert, the Metal Insert Lock Nut is not temperature or chemically restricted in applications. The lock nuts can also be reused, although over time, their holding strength will decline.

Metric: Dia M4 – M24
Imperial: Dia 1/4″ – 5/8″
Threads: Metric Coarse/Fine & Imperial BSW, UNC, UNF
Strength: A2-70, A4-70
Material/Finish: Stainless Steel
Compliance: DIN 980M

(G)Conelock Nuts – Standard

Conelock Nuts are one-piece, all-metal, prevailing torque hex nuts with interference-causing threads at the top that enable locking and prevent vibration and loosening.
Applications for conelock nuts are not restricted by temperature or chemical composition.

Metric: Dia M6 – M48
Imperial: Dia #12-24 – 2″
Threads: Metric Coarse/Fine & Imperial UNC, UNF, SAE
Strength: Class 10 & Grade 8
Material/Finish: Zinc Plated
Compliance: DIN 980V, IFI 100-107

(H)Conelock Nuts – Flanged

Conelock Nuts are one-piece, all-metal, prevailing torque hex nuts with interference-causing threads at the top that enable locking and prevent vibration and loosening. A flange resembling a washer is integrated into the conelock nut. As there is a weight bearing surface and no need for a separate flat washer, this allows for quicker installation.

Imperial: Dia 3/8″ – 3/4″
Threads: Imperial UNC, UNF
Strength: Grade 8
Material/Finish: Zinc Yellow

(I) Stover Lock Nut – L-9

Stover lock nuts are one-piece, flat-bottomed hex nuts with chamfered corners and a conical top. The nut’s oval locking collar generates dominant torque characteristics that can endure significant vibration.

Imperial: Dia 1/4″ – 1-1/2″
Threads: Imperial UNC, UNF, SAE
Strength: L-9
Material/Finish: Zinc Yellow
Compliance: L-9
